In an interview with the Handelsimmobilien Report (Issue No. 288), Christine Hager, Managing Director / Head of Shopping Center Asset Management at redos, discusses the revitalisation plans for the Rhein-Ruhr Zentrum. By acquiring the center including Karstadt Arkaden and the adjoining office tower in three individual transactions, redos, together with a real estate fund managed by Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing, combined all parts of the site into one ownership structure for the first time in history. “We have reshuffled the cards,” says Christine Hager. The refurbishment is currently one of the largest in the retail sector in Germany. Christine Hager: “We want position Rhein-Ruhr Zentrum as the number one destination in the Ruhr area and offer customers a lot more than just the opportunity to shop.”
