Shopping centres as new logistic hubs in inner cities – is this a model for the future? Christine Hager, Managing Director / Head of Shopping Center Asset Management at redos, and Markus Trojansky, Managing Director at dm, discussed this question in a video interview with the news platform HI Heute. At the LAGO shopping centre in Constance, the company pakadoo is currently testing the first provider-independent station for parcels. Although still a pilot project, it already is a good example showing the potential of shopping centres as logistic hubs in times in which online trade and traffic congestion increase. In addition to helping reduce traffic jam, provider-independent parcel stations can also be an additional incentive to bring consumers to the centre, says Christine Hager.
